The Museum of Carmagnola promotes and participates in several field researches both for strictly scientific ecological, biogeographical and taxonomic purposes or for more practical reasons, and especially nature conservation and wildlife management. In this cases the expertise of the museum naturalists is made available to managers who wish to promote the conservation or improve the management of natural areas and species, or wildlife and ecological problem solving.
The researches specifically addressed to management, usually conducted in the region Piemonte and or in neighboring regions, are required by Regional Governments, Provincial or Municipal Administrations, Park Managers and Private Entities, and contribute to the funding of the Museum through agreements with Carmagnola Municipality.
Expeditions abroad are carried out by researchers of the museum always as part of international cooperations. These are not funded by the City of Carmagnola but by private Sponsors or research grants provided by international organizations.
